A seminar titled "The Role of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in Academic Excellence and Quality of Higher Education" was held at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) on Saturday (July 19) at 12:30 PM in the university's conference room.
The event was presided over by RUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S M Abdur Razzak. The chief guest was Professor Dr. Masuma Habib, a member of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh.
In her address, Professor Dr. Masuma Habib praised RUET, stating that alongside producing skilled engineers, RUET has been performing well in enhancing the quality of higher education. She added that UGC is working collaboratively with universities to improve both the standard of higher education and student development.
A presentation on the quality of education and research at RUET was delivered by IQAC Director Professor Dr. Md. Emdadul Hoque. Special guests included Dr. Durga Rani Sarker, Director of UGC’s Strategic Planning and Quality Assurance (SPQA) Division, and Deputy Director Mohammad Monir Ullah.
Deans and departmental heads from various faculties of RUET were also present at the seminar. At the end of the program, the Vice-Chancellor presented crests and gifts to the UGC officials as a token of appreciation.
